Zoe Heriot

Working aboard a space station called The Wheel, Zoe stowed away in the TARDIS hoping to see what else there was to life.
After doing battle with numerous aliens,including the Cybermen and Ice Warriors, the Doctor eventually takes her back to the Wheel

Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart

This is one of the Doctor's longest standing friendship. When the Doctor first meets Lethbridge, he is a Colonel working for UNIT. They meet while investigating an invasion of yeti on the London Underground.
Four years later he has been promoted to Brigidier and is now the head of UNIT. This time Lethbridge is on hand to help the Doctor defeat an invasion by the Cybermen.


Liz Shaw

After the Doctor is sent to earth to begin his exile, Brigadier Lethbridge decides to employ the aid of Professor Elisabeth Shaw as a scientific advisor. However she doesn't at first believe his claims about stopping the attacks from two alien invasions with the help of the Doctor.
When an attack by the Autons takes place, she then starts to believe and spends the next few months assisting the doctor.
Eventually she soon tires of being someone who just assists and leaves the his company.

Sergeant Benton

A brave, Trusted recruit Benton first met the Doctor during an attack by the Cybermen.
In 1979, he retired from UNIT to become a car salesmen.

Mike Yates

Basic info-Name:Mike Yates (Richard Franklin)

UNIT's second in command, Yates was a good and trustworthy officer until he found himself hynotised by the super computer BOSS. Against his will, he was made to act against UNIT. Once he had recovered, he went on to join a secret organisation whose plan was to rid the earth of it's population and to turn back time.
Eventually he was fired from UNIT for his misdeeds but did try to make up for it by warning Sarah Jane about the giant spiders on Metebelis Three.

Jo Grant

A clumsy and awkward girl, Jo was recruited by UNIT to replace Liz Shaw, much to the Doctors annoyance.
unfortunately for Jo, her first day at work involved try to set off a bomb at the UNIT headquarters having being hypnotised by the Master.
Jo's time with the Doctor came to an end when she decided not to go to Metebelis Three but to stay behind and resign from UNIT. She stayed to give her support to a ecological group in Wales, led by Professor Clifford Jones, whom she travelled to the Amazon with and later married.

Sarah Jane Smith

Journalist Sarah Jane Smith's first meeting with the doctor came when she secretly entered a research center while investigating the disappearances of top scientist. She at first though that the Doctor was the one behind the kidnappings. She soon became convinced of his innocence after stowing away on the Tardis where it landed in Medieval England. They discovered that a stranded Sontaran had been taking the scientists from the future as he tried to repair his spaceship.
Smith continued to travel with the doctor and was even allowed a pass by UNIT to Thinktank where she discovered that a robot was planning on stealing the operational codes to the world's atomic missiles, with the use of a disentegrator gun.
When the Doctor was called back to his home planet of Gallifrey, it became the end of that particular journey for Sarah Jane. Only Time Lords were allowed on Gallifrey and so the Doctor dropped her off at her home in Croydon...or so he thought. He was off course by several hundred miles and Smith ended up in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Having shared a very strong bond with the Doctor as well as being with him when he regenerated, it would not be the last time that the two of them would cross paths.

Harry Sullivan

Surgeon-Lieutenant Harry Sullivan, was entrusted with the care of the Doctor after he had regenerated.
Along with Sarah Jane, Harry infiltrated Thinktank to discover a Robot trying to steal the operation codes that would launch the world's misslies.
When he agreed to a suggestion of a trip to the moon, Harry readily agreed. There he helped to bring back to life survivors that been cryogenically frozen by solar flares and which had destroyed the earth.
He left the the Doctor after a battle that had seen the Zygons Defeated.

Leela

Basic info-Name:Leela (Louise Jameson)
Occupation:Warrior

Leela is a warrior from a tribe called Sevateem and her first and natural instinct is to fight and kill.
The Doctor, however teaches her that violence is not aways needed and by the time her adventures with him had ended, Leela has learnt a lot about the universe around her as well as the value of life.

Gallifrey, having been invaded by the Sontarans, sees the Doctor and his companions escape in order to find the Key of Rassilon. The Sontarans are also after the key and they gain access to the TARDIS hoping to hunt down the president and his friends.
The De-mat gun, a weapon forbidden by the Time Lords, is used to erase it's victims from time itself.
Stor, the leader of the Sontarans, plans to destroy the Eye of Harmony but is thrawted when he is obliterated by the De-mat gun, which also wipes the memory of the Doctors's most recent event.
By the time the Doctor is ready to leave Gallifrey, Leela, having fallen in love with Andred the leader of the chancellory guards, decides to stay, along with another one of the Doctor's companions, K-9.

K-9

On an asteroid in the 50th century, Professor Marius found that the weight restrictions stopped him from bringing along his pet dog, so he built a talking, moving computer.
K-9 was equipped with a laser blaster, tracking device, sensor ears and a vast knowledge of information databases.
When the Doctor had been infected with an alien virus, Leela took him to the asteroid, (BI-AL) where she first met the computerised dog.
After the Doctor had recuperated, K-9 left BI-AL and took the chance to travel in the TARDIS. He was a well trusted companion for the Doctor who told K-9 all his plans without telling anyone else.
When the Doctor decided to lure the Vardans into a trap by pretending that he was going to help them invade Gallifrey,even Leela was unaware of the plot.
However the Vardens turned out to really be Sontarans.
After k-9 chose to stay on Gallifrey with Leela, the Doctor built himself a more advanced version of the computer. He also constucted a third as a gift to Sarah Jane.
