BTS GROUP

BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan), also known as Bangtan Boys, is a South Korean boy band formed in 2010 and making their official debut under Big Hit Entertainment in 2013. Initially a hip-hop music group, their musical style has since expanded to include various genres such as pop, EDM, and R&B. Composed of members Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, many of their own productions discuss themes of troubles experienced during teenage years, loss, self-love, and individuality.In 2013, they released their first album 2 Cool 4 Skool, while BTS released their first Korean language studio album Dark & Wild and their first Japanese language studio album Wake Up in 2014. Their second Korean studio album Wings (in 2016) sold over a million copies, marking the first time they achieved this milestone. By 2017, BTS had entered the global music market. They became the first Korean music group to receive a certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for their song 'Mic Drop,' as well as the first Korean music group to have their studio album Love Yourself: Tear reach the top position on the US Billboard 200. Love Yourself: Answer (2018) also became the first Korean album to be certified platinum by the RIAA.
