Going to a New School

Next year I am attending a new school. I won a scholarship there based on academic merit, but one condition is that I maintain an excellent standard of academic transcript.
One of the subjects that I am studying next year is Mandarin Chinese. The girls who have been there since Reception will have been learning it for 7 years, and I do not want to look bad compared to them, as this could affect my report.
Currently, I am freaking out about this. If anyone has any ideas about leaning a language quickly, please write to me on SOTW. (due to my huge number of extra curriculars, I can't go to a language school.

I have found a brilliant site called learnchineseez.com
It has pinyin, audio and simple pinyin on it, and you can access it anywhere you have internet.
I would really recommend it.
