Merhaba!: Hello!

NOTE, it's orginated from the Arabic word for hello "marhaba" Oerginal Turkish words usually don't include "h" sound. We don't pronounce the "h" in "merhaba".

Selam!: Hi!

NOTE, this word "selam" is actually known as "salam" or "salaam" in other countries with Muslim majority but Turkish has an almost entirely phonathic writing system which means words are usually pronounced how they are written so we write the word differently.
