TRICERATOPS HORRIDUS
At 30 feet and 6 tons the largest ceratopian, Triceratops Horridus was one of the last dinosaurs alive at the end of the Cretaceous, 65 million years ago, when the reign of the dinosaurs came to an end. It was once believed that there were 16 species of Triceratops, but scientists now realize that the differences in the many skulls discovered reveal variation among individuals, not differences at the species level. |
