Simplification of fractions
The standard sequence of performing mathematical operations used in simplification of fractions is as follows.

x - Multiplication
+ - Addition
- - Subtraction
This can be easily remembered by the mnemonic BODMAS.

6. The difference of two fractions 5 of 1/3. The greater of them is 6 of 5/12. find the other fraction.
7. 3/4 of a number is greater than 3/8 of it by 12. Find the number.
8. 4/5 of an amount of money is 24.00 rupees. Find the amount.
9. A man who owned 2/5 of a land sold his share for 100 000 rupees. find the value of the whole land.
10. Find the sum of the largest and the smallest of the following fractions and the difference of the other two. 2/3 , 3/8, 1/5, 5/16
