Sinharaja forest The word's tropical rainforst was designated by UNESCO in 1988. Designated as a protected forest in 1926.this forest which belongs to the Galle Mathara and Rathnapura districtsis 23.000 acres in size.The highest point in the sinharaja forest is the Theropitiyala mountain peak. The Gin Rive flows form the south through the middle of sinharaja and the Kaluganga River flows form the north.
