The poson festival 2025 Poson, also known as Poson Poya, is a significant Buddhist festival in Sri Lanka that commemorates the introduction of Buddhism to the island in the 3rd century BC. kandy According to historical records, this city was first built by King Vikramabahu (1357–1374). He constructed it in the area called Watapuluwa, located north of the current city, and named it Senkadagalapura.
