Maka Albarn (マカ・アルバーン)
6th of July, 13 yearsold
"We might be scared but that's what makes us stronger!"

Who is she?

Maka Albarn is a young, yet skilled meister; handler of a scythe-like weapon. As a student of DWMA (Death Weapon Meister Academy) in the EAT class, her goal is to protect the world from the arrival of kishin and other potential dangers, e.g. witches. Maka is bright, cheerful, and confident; being strong-willed to support her friends. She is shown to have more maturity/reason compared to other characters.
Maka's motivations as a meister lies in her early youth, mainly by Spirit (we'll touch on him later!); Maka is reluctant to accept him as her father due to his unfaithfulness - his sleazy tendencies even drove her mother for a divorce! Maka wishes to surpass her father's strength and follow in her mother's footsteps, that being to hail herself as the most skilled meister and succeed soul as a death scythe.

𝚂𝚘𝚞𝚕 Evans

Soul Evans (ソウル·エヴァンス)

Who is he?

Soul Evans is a demon weapon who takes the form of a scythe, attending DWMA alongside his meister Maka Albarn.
Soul plays a nonchalant persona, trying to be "cool" in the face of others. Despite the weapon and Meister's squabbles, they still make for a good duo.
As a person of weapon heritage, Soul is enlisted into DWMA to hone his abilities - he desires the title of "death scythe", in which a weapon can be welded by death if they and their meister obtain 99 soon-to-be kishin souls + 1 witch soul. Though his desires aren't all materialistic, he wants to see the best for his friends and the future.

Soul has the power to change parts of his body into his weapon form,
capable of using his arms and legs as blades.

Black☆Star (ブラック☆スター)

Who is he?

Black Star is a meister who attends DMWA, alongside his versatile weapon, Tsubaki.
Black Star describes himself as the king of kings, aiming to be the strongest meister in the whole of the universe; he believes this is a charming trait of his, but— to the rest of his group, this comes off as entitiled.
Black Star originated from the infamous Star clan, known for their cruelty towards opposing villages. After they collapsed from DMWA, Black Star was soon taken in by Sid as the sole survivor of the clan. Despite having been raised as an infant, never knowing the brutality of his heritage, Black Star still catches flack for it from towns coping with the tragedies. Even then, it doesn't stop Black Star's journey to be the strongest man in the world!

Death the kid (デス・ザ・キッド)

"I'm going to keep fighting until this world is the way it should be. Until the world is balanced."

Who is he?

Death the Kid is a respected figure within DWMA, being the son of Death— he is the meister of twin weapons, Liz and Patti.
Kid at first glance is rather reserved and uptight, but— his weakness is his incurable mania for symmetry. Anything one bit asymmetrical throws him into hysterics.
Kid first begins as a witch investigator. Whilst loitering in his father's room, Kid watches Stein battling against students through violent means. He begs his father if he can fight against him, but, is denied due to being outside of the academy. In an act of lawfulness, Death the Kid and his weapons join the DWMA to protect others from harm.

L i z & P a t t y Thompson

Liz and Patti Thompson (リズと　パトリシア　トンプソン)
Patti: August 1st 13-15 ~ January 7th Liz: 16-17
"A sound soul dwells between sound skin and sound cuticles."

Who are they?

Liz and Patti are twin weapons who both take the form of pistols. Death the kid is their meister.
Liz and Patti aren't exactly the sharpest tools in the shed, however, Liz is the sharpest of the pair. Patty acts childlike, if not airheaded, whilst Liz is reminiscent of a moody teenager.
Liz and Patti began as thugs in Brooklyn, New York, threatening people through their weapon forms. Death the Kid encounters the twins in an alley, who attempt to steal from him. This plan of the Thompsons backfires for the better, Kid accepting them as his weapons, impressed by their incredible symmetry.

They aren't actually twins (explainable by their differing dates of birth)- Patti is the younger of the pair!

𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐚 Gorgon

Crona and his mother, Medusa Gorgon. Bad haircuts run in the family.

Crona Gorgon (クロナ)
Unknown, 14-15 yearsold
"I'm scared. Of everyone. I need to learn how to deal with people better."

Who are they?

Crona Gorgon, or by their infamous name "demon sword", is a student in DWMA. They are the master of the demon sword, Ragnarok.
Crona is introverted, and lacks the courage and self-respect to approach other people- Crona lacks a high opinion of themselves.
Crona was the child of the dangerous witch, Medusa Gorgon. They were treated with little love, Medusa attempting to transform Crona into a "kishin", a creature born out of consuming exorbitant amounts of pure souls. After the defeat of Medusa, Crona Gorgon was taken in by Maka and her friends, who slowly assimilated the fretful Crona into their new and much kinder world.
