When they're on a shoot, models wear what the photographer, art director, and the end client want them to appear in. For fashion work, the end client supplies the clothing, sometimes the models have the option to keep the clothing from the shoot (it can't be sold retail), the model will usually supply their own undergarments. For work other than fashion the photgrapher and/or art director will arrange with the model ahead of time for the model to bring the needed clothing, or arrange to have it supplied for the shoot. What clothing is needed depends on the shoot. If Its a resort, it will be clothing appropriate for the locations at the resort they'll be shooting at. If the shoot will depict a happy family buying its first house... and so on.

When they're not on a shoot models wear whatever they want, like everyone else. It helps their career if they don't look like they never wore a business suit or long dress or a golf outfit or whatever before - it's more a matter of a positive attitude at work than what they wear at home, but it might be helpful to have tried a wide variety of clothing on in stores so there's some sense of how to carry yourself when wearing it.




This a famous model who took part in the television show America's Next Top Model run by Tyra Banks. This Model is wearing what the photographer or the art director is wanting her to wear for a photo with other girls who took part in the television show.


Other models are sometimes focused on their faces that is why these models have a close up on their face. You can see the art in this photo with all the different colours on their face, the make-up artist have used paint and make-up to show the art on their faces.


This is a double photo of the same girl that is shown repeatedly on a cover of a magazine but doing different poses. If you have noticed the clothes they proberly wouldn't wear it in normal day life but when it comes to work they do.


I could not get a close up on this model so i'm not sure who she is, but as you can see she is wearing ordinary clothes just like you and I do. She does not always wear fashionable clothes to look good, as said by many people, you do not have to wear fashionable (in date) clothes all the time just to look good.


The Same with this model, she is wearing her ordinary clothes, there is not much to say because these are not specific designer clothes that are a big deal to talk about.


The same with Tyra Banks, she is wearing the normal thing jeans, top and a nice jacket that could possibly be designer all models wear ordinary clothes.
