here are some facts about cats i mean i now that there are dog lovers out there like me but cats are nice i am not trying to brag you cat lovers just saying i am not a big fan of cats
so yea
Unlike dogs, cats do not have a sweet tooth. Scientists believe this is due to a mutation in a key taste receptor.
When a cat chases its prey, it keeps its head level. Dogs and humans bob their heads up and down.

the average cat sleeps 16-18 hours per day.

2. Calico cats are almost always female.

3. Most cats are lactose intolerant and should not be given cow’s milk.

4. Cats knead with their paws when they are happy.

5. A male cat is called a “Tom” and a female cat is called a “Queen.”

6. Cats can get tapeworm from eating mice.

7. Cats have more than 100 different vocal sounds.

8. An adult cat has 30 adult teeth

9. Cats can run up to 30 miles per hour.

10. A cat can jump approximately seven times its height.

so i hope this is ok for you cat lovers but i will be making more blogs about cats so bye bye and i will try to post blogs every Thursday night bye guys

3/5/2017 updated date 6/5/2017

little do you know dogs are really talented.

There are more than 150 dog breeds, divided into 8 classes: sporting, hound, working, terrier, toy, non-sporting, herding, and miscellaneous.

According to a recent survey, the most popular name for a dog is Max. Other popular names include Molly, Sam, Zach, and Maggie.

Dogs can vary in size from a 36 inch (150+ lb.) Great Dane to a 2 lb. Chihuahua.

Puppies and kittens can be adopted as early as 8 weeks of age. Until then, they should stay with their moms and littermates.

About 1/3 of the dogs that are surrendered to animal shelters are purebred dogs.

Contrary to popular belief, dogs do not sweat by salivating. They sweat through the pads of their feet.

Dogs may not have as many taste buds as we do (they have about 1,700 on their tongues, while we humans have about 9,000), but that doesn’t mean they’re not discriminating eaters. They have over 200 million scent receptors in their noses (we have only 5 million) so it’s important that their food smells good and tastes good.

The term “dog days” has nothing to do with dogs. It dates back to Roman times, when it was believed that Sirius, the Dog Star, added its heat to that of the sun from July 3 to August 11, creating exceptionally high temperatures.

Did you know they were female? Toto’s role in The Wizard of Oz was played by a female Cairn Terrier named Terry, and the Taco Bell dog is actually a female Chihuahua named Gidget.

Former US President Teddy Roosevelt had a Pit Bull named Pete.

An adult dog has 42 teeth.

If a dog isn’t spayed or neutered, a female dog, her mate and their offspring can product 67,000 dogs in 6 years.

The most successful mountain rescue dog ever was a St Bernard named Barry, who lived during the early 1800’s and saved 40 lives.

It was recently discovered that dogs do see in color, just not as vivid as we see.

Nearly all but two breeds of dogs have pink tongues: the Chow Chow and the Shar-pei both have black tongues.

The Poodle haircut was originally meant to improve the dog’s swimming abilities as a retriever, with the pom-poms left in place to warm their joints.

The top five favorite breeds of dogs in the US are: Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, Beagle, and Dachshund.

The Basenji is the only barkless dog in the world.

Your dog is as smart as a 2-year-old toddler.
There’s a reason your tot and your pup get along so well: they speak the same language. Or at least, they likely understand roughly the same number of words and gestures — 250!

Dogs and cats both slurp water the same way.
This may be hard to believe since dogs are such messy drinkers, but just like cats, our canine friends bend the tip of their tongue and raise liquid in a column up to their mouths.

Your dog does have a sense of time — and misses you when you’re gone.
If you think your dog knows when it’s time for dinner or a walk, you’re right! Dogs pick up on our routines and habits, and they also sense how much time has passed. One study showed how dogs responded differently to their owners being gone for different lengths of time.

Your dog’s whiskers help him “see” in the dark.
Okay, it’s not quite night-vision or a super power, but those whiskers pick up on even subtle changes in air currents, providing your pup with information about the size, shape, and speed of things nearby. This allows your dog to better sense approaching dangers or prey — even at night.

Dogs only have sweat glands in their paws.
More specifically, they are found between their paw pads. That’s why it can help to wet the bottom of their feet on a hot day, and it’s also why dogs rely on panting as a means of cooling down.

On average, a dog’s mouth exerts 320 pounds of pressure.
The tests were done on a German shepherd, American pit bull terrier, and Rottweiler. In comparison, human beings exert 120 pounds, white sharks exert 600 pounds, and crocodiles exert a whopping 2,500 pounds! Dogs also have ten more adult teeth than humans — 42 versus 32.

Your one year-old pup is as physically mature as a 15-year-old human.
Of course, different breeds age a little differently. Large dogs age faster than small ones. You can get a more exact comparison for your dog using this nifty Dog Age Calculator.

Your dog’s sense of smell is 1,000 to 10 million times better than yours.
Depending on the breed, your dog has between 125 million to 300 million scent glands — compared to only 5 million for humans. And the part of your dog’s brain that controls smell is 40 times larger than yours — that’s true, even though the canine brain is much smaller than the human, relative to size. A human’s brain is about 1/40th of their body weight while a dog’s brain is only 1/125th. Don’t feel too smug, though — an ant’s brain is 1/7th its body weight.

Dogs can hear 4 times as far as humans.
Puppies may be born deaf, but they quickly surpass our hearing abilities. Dogs can also hear higher pitched sounds, detecting a frequency range of 67 to 45,000 hertz (cycles per second). The human range is from 64 to 23,000 hertz. In both dogs and humans, the upper end of hearing range decreases with age.

Your dog can smell your feelings.
Your pup can pick up on subtle changes in your scent, which can help him figure out how you are feeling — such as by smelling your perspiration when you become nervous or fearful. It’s also likely how dogs can detect certain diseases or know that a household member is pregnant.

Hi everyone this is my first blog and I really hope you like it my name is Mariam so this blog is gonna be about dogs wheater you have one or not.
so I will be talking about my last dog he was called troy and he was a husky he was so lovely and really active he had light blue eyes as light as the sky I got him when I was in year one.
My family got him for me he was so tiny. But the years had pasted and I grew older and troy grew older as well but one funny and happy memory is when I arrive to my house you can hear him barking and when you get in the house he will follow you everywhere sometimes its fun but sometimes its not.
SO He was growing so fast I hade him for 2years and a half and we sent him to a farm for some reason it was the saddest day of the year but when I am a bit older I will most likely to have him back or another dog. But sadly I don't really own troy any more so I will be talking about my friends dog which is a golden retriever nice huh? that's what I thought.

pls read the
very end important

see ya'll next time bye my fellow readers make sure to check out my next blog
