Sigiriya



Sigiriya is an ancient kingdom.
It was built on a huge rock.
King Kashyapa built it.
It is located near the town of Dambulla.
We can see frescoes and the mirror wall.
There beautiful water gardens too.
The ruins of the palace can be seen on top the rock.
Sigiriya is a world heritage site.
Sigiriya is a main tourist attraction in Sri Lanka.
We must protect this historical place
Nuwara Eliya💖





[Nuwara Eliya is on of the most beautiful cities in Sri Lanka.
It is situated in the central province.
Nuwara Eliya is also called little England.
Lake Gregory and the Victoria park attracts the visitors.
Horton plains National Park is a famous tourist destination.
There are many waterfalls in Nuwara Eliya district.
Nuwara Eliya has a cool climate.
They are many tea factories and strawberry farms too.
There are a loft of vegetable farmers in Nuwara Eliya.
Nuwara Eliya is an ideal place to spend a holiday.
Beautiful Sinharaja



Sinharaja is one of the few virgin rainforests left in the world.
It is a UNESCO world heritage site.
It is a biodiversity hotspot.
It is also a major ecotourism destination in Sri Lanka.
This tropical rainforest is encircled by three districts.
They are Ratnapura, Gallé and Matara districts.
Sinharaja is the home for many endemic trees and rare species.
We can observe butterflies, birds, amphibians, reptiles and fish species there.
There are also beautiful waterfalls, mountains and rivers in this forest.
It is our duty to protect this precious resource.
Hakgala Botanical Garden




Over 10,000 species of flora are planted here and during the spring season in Nuwara Eliya, thousands of visitors come to see the blooms here. The garden is famous for several species of orchids and roses present in this garden. In 2023, 548, 742 domestic and 14, 844 foreign tourists visited the garden.


Situated at an elevation of about 1745m above mean sea level, Hakgala Botanic Gardens, about 28 hectares in extent, lie under the shadow of the Hakgala Rock (meaning "Elephants jaw rock") This massive rock towers to a height of about 2,200m behind the gardens and the surrounding forest reserve like a solitary giant. The gardens take the shape of several terraces upon the lower slopes of the rock and face the Uva valley, across which some mag nificent views of the Madulsima and the Namunukula range of mountains are seen in the distant landscape.

I Like many books. Among them Madul Duwa is the most favorite book. This book was written by Matin Wickramasinha. It tells about the rural life of southern Sri Lanka There are two main chatacters. They are Upali and Jinna. They are very playful. At last they ran away from the house and found an island called Madol Duwa. It is surronded by a river. They cultivated in the island and succeeded their lives. I like to read it again and again...
Martin Wickramasinha



Born Lama Hewage Don Martin Wickramasinhe , on 29 may 1890 ,in the town of Koggala (Galle District),as the only son of Lama Hewage DON Bastian Wickaramasinghe (father) and Maggalle Balapitiya Liganage Thochchohamy (mother).
At the age of five Wickramasinghe was taught the at home and in the Village temple , by a monla , Andiris Gurunnase. He also learned the Devanagari Script and could recite by moemory lony sections of the Hitopadesa After two years he was taken to a vevnacular school where he prospered until 1897 when he was sent to an English school in Galle called Buona vista.







The temple of the sacred Tooth Relic is a world-renowned place of worship, where the left canine tooth of Gautama Buddha is enshrined The temple which is venerated by thousands and tourists daily was named as a world helotage by UNESCO IN 1988 The temple which scries a lot of Buddhists all over the world also has immense cultural value. The architecture is of unique Kandyan architectural style with a combination of the unique style used to build "Dalanda Mandira" the
