Some of the youthfellowship activities
is that of making pots in hand craft. |
| The Youthfellowship members often have one spirit when they are for commom activities.
I was deeply amazed by the zeal potrayed by members when told to collect clay soil
from the nearby swamp so as to learn how to make pots. I expected them to complain that
such would not be their carreer, however, they quickly collected as much as they could.
That day, many were seen making and breaking them to make better ones. It was a lesson,
that we learn by mistake, but recorrect for a better one.
I believe that, theough trying different activities, the youths are able to keep the ligacy
of the past, otherwise we would fail to get some one to make pots in future. This would be
told and past on to the future denerations that while we were youths, we made pots.
The youths also once were parents, they are expected to teach their young ones.
I invite all people to join us in keeping the best of our culture and elminate the worst
of our culture. |

The Young Stars, one black and the other brown have been a blessing in this movement
I cannot forget the laughter they cause while dancing and reciting prayers as they
are still learning how to speak. The brown one=Precious is always smart and has both parents,
where as the black one= Agnes, lost the mother. both live together as cousins and live
as twins. I find that such make the best of the group even at the stage, they attract the
public. I am indeed pleased by their presence, an all the youths would willingly surrender
their place if there would be a limited number required for any trip for the two "Twins".
Precious and Agnes know all the prayers by heart and they recite then despite their difficult
in speach. I was pleased by their great memory and capacity to understand situations.
Agnes, when the mother was very sick and was staying with her at her Grand, she asked about
their property back home, and of who would be cooking for her Dad since the mother was sick
and also she was with her. what of the chicken who was taking care of them, she asked.
Indeed, all the questions, even in the movement while we hold discussions, they have
to be paid attention to.
These are indeed future leaders, and it's our responsibility to ensure that we don't
loose the treasure in such kids. There is a neccessity to look after young ones promising
for the next generation.

| One of the challanges faced by the movement is the parents who send their children
to come for practice when we are to shoot videos or when there is to be a party,
but deny them a chance to attend special programs like Renewal and handcraft.
Many join when there is to be a trip, and they dis-appear when the trip is over.
we have many youths, especially during the holidays, when our work is done officially.
We have registered many new commers in this year 2012/2013. this has been due to the
many wedings attended, and the general character of members which compell parents
to send their children to our group.
We have now reached 130 members both Junior and senior members. |

Youthfellowship members annimating Liturgy at Ishozo catholic centre.
When the group is asked to animate liturgy, it prepares readings,
petitions, the choir, dancing in the church, and also offertory.
All members have to be in uniforms according to their level in the
movement as determined by experience and age.
Most times, the movement is supported financially by the host centre
as an appreciation and encouragement/motivation which is one of the
sources of funds for the movement.
The centre that requires the presence of the group, has to send an
invitation a week before to avoid collision and also to enable members
to prepared adquately. |

When the youth fellowship members were ending the year 2013 and entering 2014, they experienced an attack from their enemy the devil. Roomers were rampant, some members were frightened of gatherings due to the fear of being offered underground, and many others. Despite all these, we called for three days retreat, which helped to revive the spirit of togetherness and love for the movement.
Youth fellowship has now acquired new uniforms; 20 suits for the junior members and also 20 skirts for junior members. these created joy within the young and were very committed. |
